Dictionary.com defines ASSEMBLAGE as follows:

"A sculptural technique of organizing or composing into a unified whole a group of unrelated and often fragmentary or discarded objects" and as "a work of art produced by this technique."  

In the case of my work, the sculptural part is the layers of images and objects built within or bursting out of a deep frame.  The unrelated and often fragmentary or discarded objects are pieces found in electronics which I take apart, and visual images from mailings, gallery cards, magazines, calanders, and just about anything else that strikes my fancy.
